I've been on Advair for 12 years.I'm 27 years old and fed up with all this medications that doctors prescribe. We are so brainwashed into thinking that we misbehave if we don't see a doctor.Let me tell you what: The majority of the doctors, only know to prescribe medication. They get bonuses from the pharma industries every time they prescribe their "new discovered"medicine. Advair is supposed to be preventive, what you don't know it's for how long.Exactly!!!.....'cause it's not meant to cure Asthma, it's meant to keep you hooked for the rest of your life. My worse symptom is a very fast heart beating.I'm a martial artist and every time i exert a fast burst of energy(while i'm sparring for example), my heart goes into pumped up mode.It beats very, very fast and i have to stop because it hurts.Sometimes i keep going no matter what and feel like i'm exercising for two people. When i stop, i breath very deeply for 5 minutes and all of a sudden it stops and beats regularly. It's not fun, and one more thing: I'm from Argentina and my mom sends me the medicine from there cause it's way cheaper, sometimes i run out(i procrastinate sometimes), i'm left off with no medicine for a few days and boy.....I'm a wreck. The time you stop you go right back to where you started.I've been researching about an alternative to this "S***".I'm afraid 'cause i don't want to feel discomfort with my lungs anymore, but i strongly believe that there should be a natural alternative to all this laboratory drugs and i'm on a mission to find it.

You are right . . . and yes, there are many natural products/alternatives for health issues . . . instead of taking drugs that cause side effects. Unfortunately, most drs . all they know is to push drugs and people suffer . . it is a HUGE racket.

thanks for the comment. It is a huge racket. The funny thing is that i've tried every treatment that my doctors recommended and i still have asthma today.like i said: the time i'm off the meds i'm at zero again. No improvement whatsoever.Being said so, i don't want to sound like one of those people that only complain, what i'm trying to say is that we have to use the logic. We have to stop accepting the options that governments, corporations, pharma and other entities make us to believe we only have.It infuriates me when i tell somebody that i'm trying to treat my illnesses with alternative remedies and they tell me how irresponsible i am for not seeking medical attention.Whoever says that to me is well programmed.
Remember that in order to keep making trillions there still has to be more ill people.
Just a thought....research about alternatives and keep people posted.I've came across the salt pipe treatment for asthma and other allergies. It's a weird looking devise similar to a bull horn and contains some salt derived from Belgium. It's all naturall and the salt would last for 5 years. It's not expensive(like $30).I've order mine already, see if it works and let you all know.

carzogliot . . . You are in the RIGHT path . . .My mission is to educate people to use natural products/alternatives . . .instead of taking all these drugs that cause side effects. I learned the hard way . . . I no longer take drugs, I take numerous supplements and I have a wonderful chiropractor/massage therapist. Also, I only use natural personal/household products . . . I have spent countless hours on research . . now , I know how the chemicals damage your mind/body . . .If I can help you, just let me know.

oh my god, you are way too young to have been on advair for so long! and you're right it doesn't cure or fix anything. you just have to stay on it forever and when you try to get off it, you feel worse.
i was on the lowest dose for about 4 years but i only took it once a day (i was too cheap to take it twice a day). i noticed that i was losing a lot of hair and my dentist noticed that my tooth enamel was cracking. she thought i was grinding my jaws at night but i wasn't. it was the advair!
when i found this site, i saw lots of people complaining about hair loss and dental issues. i also always had a froggy throat.
i also learned that osteoporosis was a side effect. well, i haven't taken care of myself just to be crippled because of some stupid drug! i resolved to get off it.
i went to a kinesthesiologist who taught me Buteyko breathing exercises. i started taking advair once every other day and then once every 3rd day. then i switched to Flovent, the weakest strength. it's got much less drug in it than advair. i started with 2 puffs twice a day as directed and cut it down. once i was taking only one puff of flovent every 3 days without any asthma, i was able to quit it altogether.
another approach, and i do this too, is IV therapy with vitamin C and magnesium. a good integrative doctor will mix you a batch and you will feel your lungs open within minutes.
you can also buy a tincture of the herb lobelia. if you are having an acute attack of wheezing, a drop under the tongue will open your lungs in seconds.
i hope all this helps. really you are too young to be on a drug with side effects that may not affect you until you are older. actually my dad (85 yrs old) was also on advair. he's had asthma for about 50 years and has been on medication the entire time. after doing some reading on asthma, he decided to quit and he's been fine.
the problem with drugs that you are on forever is that you don't know if you've gotten better

Thank you "777" and "propsguy"!!.I am young, i know. That's why i'm trying to revaluate my life,'cause i wanna live for a long time.My dad just passed away at 62 and it really made think about my health. He looked just fine, very active man and all of a sudden he was gone. That's when it hit me: " i'm young and my body can take a lot of abuse now but when i get older it's going to manifest negatively somehow".Just like my dad, one day your are fine, the next... god knows.
well... thank you guys for your support and i'll definitely try your methods mentioned above.
