I took Zocor for 25 days when I suddenly had such pain at night in my upper arms that I couldn't raise my arms up at all. It's been 2 full weeks since I stopped taking Zocor, and every single night around 7 I develop severe pain somewhere in my body, usually in my hands, knees or feet. It's in a different place almost every night. Tonight it's in my left hand across the whole top of my hand, below the wrist. Can Zocor cause this kind of pain so long after stopping taking it? And I only took it for 25 days! Please help - this really hurts and I hope it will improve.

Statins are dangerous drugs that cause MANY side effects. Good that you stopped taking it quickly. I know all about this POISON, since I am a victim of Lipitor. Everyone is different, but, you should recover fast, since you only took it for 25 days . . .unfortunately, I took it for years. . .the drs. and the drug co's are doing a SCAM on the anti-cholesterol drugs . . .big $$. In reality, your mind/body NEEDS cholesterol to function properly. DON'T LET YOUR DR. TO CON YOU TO TAKE MORE STATINS !!

A friend took it for 17 days B4 stopping, it took 6 weeks B4 the pain went away. I took it for 4 years, 2 years later I still need some morphine to easy the pain, ironically you might count yourself lucky. read all the articles on spacedoc dot net.

Muscle, nerve, and joint pain from statins can continue long after the drug has been stopped. While some people can experience relief quickly after stopping the drug, others take months to recover.
