I got mine taken out about 2 months ago as well in August. I then started bcp ortho tri cyclen lo. It has been a LONG drawn out battle. They also have me on creams and antibiotics bc of my back and chest. Were you also on anything? Our stories are so similar, and its great to hear your skin is going back to what it was. I pray everyday for my skin back. I am hoping I start seeing something soon too.
Thank you for taking the time to write about your progress after having your Mirena removed. I have been searching through the posts to try to get an idea of how long it might take before this incredibly horrible, painful, cystic acne may begin to clear up. I'm 41, had the Mirena 3 years, and after the second year the acne began gradually. The severity slowly increased over time. The lower part of my face and neck are now covered in SEVERE acne. I do also have it on other parts of my face, my scalp, chest and back. Although, it's not as bad. My skin has never looked like this before. I wish I could show my face to every woman considering this birth control method. It hurts to lay my face on a pillow at night. I've been to several Dermatologist and been prescribed many different medications including antibiotics, but nothing has worked. Finally, I looked up the Mirena on the internet and the continuous posts of women complaining of acne astonished me. I had the Mirena removed a week ago and I pray my complexion gets better. Your post makes me hopeful.
