I was on Yaz for years with no serious problems, but after my baby was born 6 months ago my insurance put me on Yasmin. I hate it! I'm starting to have vision problems and my eyes burn horrible when I get into the sun. I am 37 years old and am in good health. I find myself having mood swings and crying for no reason at all. My concern is my eyes and how bad they hurt. Anyone else having problems like this?

Hi kellythompson:

I just wanted to let you know that there is a site called the "Yasmin Survivors Forum" (if you type it into your search engine it will come up), where there are many women (including myself) who have experienced the same symptoms you describe while on Yasmin that can offer support and advice.

I also experienced the mood swings and weepiness, and Yasmin also caused astigmatism and very sensitive/painful eyes, especially when in the sun, as you describe.

I hope to see you at the forum. In the meantime, I wish you the best of luck and improved health.

Meagan

I have been on Yaz for about 3 1/2 years now and Ive always had a bit of a problem with my eyes being bad, but i barely needed contacts. I went to the doctor last year and he had told me how bad they have gotten compared to the contact lens i had in. I went back a week or so ago and he told me he is so taken back how bad they have gotten just sense last year. He told me he had it under control but when he checked them again my eyes were three times worse than last year. He said he had no idea or reason as to why this could be happening considering after you hit 19 your eyes almost completly stabilize for awhile. That w as not my case. everything is blurry, and has a shadow to it. If i was to look at my hand i would see a shadow to my hand. it is horrible, and an attorney contacted me and told me it could be a cause from YAZ
