I just had my Mirena placed last week. I felt excited after the procedure. No more kids for at least 5 years? Now that I have read all of these post I am scared. I am 25, married with three children. I had the last baby nine months ago and don't want anymore, right now. The cramping stopped the same day. I took Midol the second day after for bloating and everything was fine. However, I woke up today feeling more tired than usual, irritated, moody, depressed, scared, sleepy. And I have spotting, cramping (both abdominal and lower back)and butterflies in my stomach. I thought that my body was just playing tricks on me and decided to look up possible Mirena side effects that I might have missed and happened upon this site. Now I am really scared. I am scheduled next week for my placement check-up and if these symptoms are not explained or gone I might just have it removed and go back to Trojan. :(

I just had mine inserted last week too. I kind of feel like she pushed it on me. I made a point to ask a lot about side effects and she looked me in the eye and said "nothing except you won't have your period anymore"

SO, I have been sick and lots of cramping every day.. breast pain. .the weirdest thing.. never had that before in my life... diahrrea.. and cranky as hell... and this horrible lump/gag feeling like something is in my throat. I had that on Yasmin too. I am very allergic to bc pills so I recognize some of it.. I don't want kids right now either... I'm seriously considering condoms again too.. what a shame... take care and good luck! I think I'll be getting mine out soon.. there goes $$...
