yes, the irony to put a person on drugs that force them to eat a lousy diet

Good that you stopped taking this DANGEROUS drug that cause MANY side effects, I am a victim of this POISON and I learned about this drug the hard way. Unfortunately, the drs. and the drug co's continue to push the anti-cholesterol drugs . .it is a HUGE racket, big $$ business. In reality, your mind/body NEEDS cholesterol to function properly. DON'T LET YOUR DR. TO CON YOU.
Dorothy, thank you for taking time to post your story.
It angers me to no end when a 70 year old woman is injured by statins. There is no excuss for what they have done to you. You are at the age when higher cholesterol levels provide for better longevity and health.
Cholesterol is a very poor predictor of heart attack, and statins have never shown any benefit for women. Keep in mind that the studies that claim these are wonder drugs are paid for by the company that is selling the drug. There is considerable motivation to steer the results in their favor.
I tell you the truth. In the BIG PICTURE away from drug company sponsered studies, statins have done nothing to further enhance the decline in heart attacks over the last 20 years. The aggressive lowering of LDL "bad" cholesterol with statins hasn't put a dent in the decline rate.
I hope you start to feeling better. I'm not a doctor, but if I were I would have prescribed a good pair of athletic shoes and fresh air and sunshine.
Bobby
The drop in heart attacks can be attributed to people stop smoking.
