I developed severe asthma at the age of 23 and am now 29. Let me say first that Advair develops an addiction!!! however, if I do not take it within days my body reverts back to the crumpled wheezing mess I was before I began taking it. I was taking puffs on my rescue inhaler every 3-4 hours which we all know is not good on the long term. Albuterol makes the heart race and keeps me dizzy for 15 min or so. When I first started taking advair a super nice doctor *secretly* advised me to take one puff a day instead of two as a way to save money. that was 4 years ago and I am beginning to feel the need to take the usually prescribed second puff in the evening. I am aware of the long-term effects on the body but honestly nothing else works nearly as well. Everyday things like climbing stairs ends in an attack without it. necessary evil.
