29 year old female. My doctor prescribed Omnicef for my Strep Throat, after the first day began experiencing stomach cramps. Ive been taking Acidopholus & the cramps seemed to go almost completely away, don't know if it was the pro-biotic. By the third day began having shortness of breath and anxiety and sleeplessness, along with burning & itching of face,chest, hands & arms (benadryl seemed to help some) Im not on any other medications so very good chance its the antibiotic. I am allergic to penicillin & after doing some research found if you're allergic to penicillin you can be allergic to Omnicef (Cefdinir-generic). Ive never had problems like this from any other antibiotic...the only thing penicillin did was cause a small rash on my neck. Called my doctor to see if she can prescribe something else.From what Ive read this antibiotic can cause a lot of side effects, if you can take another antibiotic I would suggest it!
