I have had numerous remincade infusions over the last year or so, and for the last six months I have been fighting an upper respiratory infection and persistent cough. I am now convinced it is a side effect of the remicate that I was not warned about in sufficient detail. This has become a major problem and I will probably no have any more of the infusion, although my Crohn's in now out of control. Has anyone else experienced upper respiratory disress, cough and sinus problems following remicade infustions? email me with your information. Thanks. Max.

Hi Max,
My husband has been on remicade for the past 1 1/2 years and is constantly fighting upper respiratory infections.

Have you had any luck. Anybody else know anything about this? smlee_2004@hotmail.com.

Thanks!

Hello,

I have psoriatic arthritis, and I'm being treated for it w/remicade.. It's been working well for my arthritis, but I keep getting upper respetory infections.. I've been on remicade for 2 months now..I had my second infusion one month ago..and I'm due for another but I have bronkitis. This is the second time in 2 mths that i've gotten bronkitis. And I just got over having a sinus infection ..It just won't go away. As soon as I get alittle better I get sick again.. What should I do?

Oh my!

I too have been fighting this bronchial problem for nearly a year now and it seems that I have been ignored of my complaints to my doctors! I am VERY sorry to hear of these symptoms to those in the previous messages. Your input... and mine will be taken once again to my next office visit.

I have been so discouraged fighting the hacking coughs... along w/ excessive phlegm. Not only is my psoriatic arthritis in an extremely painful condition, the coughing alone has almost ruined my life... keeping me a social reclusive and unable to do even the basic things of life at times. Many, many times... I can hardly go 5 to 10 minutes w/o a violent coughing episode. At moments.... feel like my heart is going to explode out of my chest. My body can't keep this up. Does anyone relate?

I will be praying for you folks in here...

Max,

My daughter has had very similar symptoms following Remicade treatments. She is only 10. We've done 3 treatments and she's had this persistent cough for over 2 months now. Nothing helps the cough except when she's on prednisone. She's also suffered from sinusitis and strep throat. We're doing a tonsillectomy tomorrow in the hope that this will fix the cough. I'd like to know more about your experience with the cough and if you have discovered a successful treatment to quiet the cough.
