I am 49 and was taking 10 mg. a day of Lipitor for 13 weeks. It seems Lipitor does an excellent job of lowering cholesterol but it will kill you in return. For the first 8 weeks on Lipitor I felt fine and than the side effects started. I started getting pressure in the head and headaches, stiff neck and upper back pain and back inflammation. The doctor (quack) told me to just keep taking Lipitor anyway. On the 13th week the pain got so bad I had to take myself off of it. I have now been off of it 3 weeks and my headache and stiff neck have finally disappeared. However I still have the upper back pain. There is a slight improvement but I am hoping for more. Does anyone know if the upper back pain will eventually disappear and how long it will take?
