If someone can answer this question for me that would be very appreciated. 1. Does this med cause weight gain? 2. Does this Poloystic Hormon Syndrome ever cure, does is cause infertility? I'm trying to have a child, and i'm concerned about that issue. The only side affect i have was diarrhea.....It hasn't continued, but sometimes a little gas.

To try and answer your questions: I noticed that I LOST about 15 pounds while I was taking Metformin. There is no cure for that Syndrome (as far as I've been told). I was diagnosed about 2 or 3 years ago with it. I'm told that people with this Syndrome can go on and have perfectly healthy pregnancies. I disagree unfortunetly. Although it does depend on your side effect cause by this syndrome. I don't ovulate (therefore obviously can't get pregnant). Not everybody is like that though. If you're still having regular periods I wouldn't worry about infertility.

My heart went out to you when I read your post and I wanted to reply! I, too, have PCOS, would love to lose weight, and have been on Glumetza. I think you can lose some on Glumetza, but if you have a lot to lose don't count on just that. The other thing you asked about was fertility. Well, l have 3 children! My third was all due to Metformin. I took it regularly, my periods really regulated themselves, and was pregnant within a couple of months. So, stay on track and good luck!
