The past three days I have been taking chewable papain after meals or after eating. I take atenolol for high blood pressure. Last night and today I feel like I have not taken any atenolol. I am wondering if the papaya enzyme has canceled out the atenolol when I took both at the same time. My blood pressure went up from 125 to about 155...enough to interfere with my sleep. Also I have a condition called costocondritis (sp?) which inflames the cartilige in the breastbone area...sometimes bad enough for medication and sometimes not at all. If I sneeze a lot it is especially irritating. Would there be a connection between inflamation in the chest area and papaya?
