My 6 year old daughter has been taking Singulair for asthma/allergies for 4 months. She had a cold in May that just never seemed to go away and was accompanied by wheezing. The doctor felt it was asthma and she has been taking Singulair every night since. My daughter is usually outgoing and doesnt worry much...but she started worrying about spending the night places, crying thinking she would miss me too much, nervous with stomach aches at school. She has been waking up with stomach aches or diarrhea at least 3 times a week. I kept calling it " nerves" since she started kindergarten last month but it just seems odd . Now at night she worries about nightmares and has been thinking about death...which is not like her at all. I asked her what gave her that idea and she just shruggs. I thought maybe she had seen something on tv or this was just a phase but this evening she went into a major panic episode. Was crying shaking and thinking she was going to die....it scared me and I didnt know what to do. I put music on for her at night, her door is open , night light on and cat on her bed I try to ease her anxiety the best I can but nothing seemed to help so this evening I had been trying to think of what it could be... and her medication crossed my mind. I looked it up and the first thing I found was this website/message board- wow, I cant believe it...I never would have thought it was her medicine! I am taking her to the doctor tomorrow to let him know all of this but really until now I didnt put 2 and 2 together...as it was just an asthma medication I didnt know it could cause this. I am glad I found this website and I hope that stopping this medication will resolve this problem. She has been wondering whats wrong with her too, she didnt know why all of a sudden she was scared all of the time.... Thank goodness I found this information and I hope the word gets out about this side effect. Jessica
