Since taking Lipator I completely lost may balance.I couldn't walk through the house withu bumping into the walls and I couldn't walk down the sidewalk without shoving my husband to one side. My skin is shriveling up and so dry it cracks. After one week of being off Lipitor my balance is back to normal, I suppose the other symptoms will take longer to get back to normal. At first I was on a strict diet that I never varied from and still my chlorestrol did go down. The doctor said what I had was inherited chlorestol and would have to take medication for it. So, What do I take? Jean

your body will make all the cholesterol it needs. if you eat animal foods, you will take in more cholesterol. eat vegetables and whole grains, get some exercise and your cholesterol will go down. it may not go down as low as your doctor would like it but he's probably been bamboozled by the drug companies. they are trying to make cholesterol into a big deal, into the enemy so they can fix it with a drug.
don't take the drug. you need cholesterol to live; you don't need the side effects of the drug- the muscle pain, the memory loss, etc
