I have been on Mircette for over a year now. I was switched to Mircette b/c Loestrin made me extremely moody. Starting a few months ago I have become unpredictable. Some days I am happy, some days I am angry and paranoid. Some moments I cry for no reason, or for very little reason- over react. I have swollen breasts and my acne is getting worse after I've been on it for a while. My Dr. has presribed Yasmin - but after reading everyone's entries on Yasmin I am wondering if that will really help the moodiness and depression.

Hello,
I completely understand the frustration associated with birth controls making you moody/ depressed. I have tried several contraceptives, including 3 oral contraceptives and the ring. I also experience extreme depression while taking them. My doctor then prescribed a very low dose antidepressant to take while I try my latest attempt at taking Mircette. Perhaps this is something you might like to consider discussing with your doctor, too. Best of luck to you!
