Levaquin Ent Doctor, Earache, Tmj, Tinnitus, Tendon

While taking Levaquin I experienced insomnia and anxiety. One week after completing 500mg a day for 10 days, I began experiencing Tendonitis in my right hand/wrist and have had an incredibly painful earache with tinnitus and vertigo. The ENT doctor diagnosed TMJ, but I do not grind my teeth or clench my teeth. My jaw operates just fine with no immediate pain, but the earache persists almost constantly. The ENT doctor's solution was Vicodin, but I want a cure not a pain treatment. I don't believe I have TMJ and wonder if it could be the temporal tendon. I am indirectly aware of two other people who have had the same experience, and I wonder how many others are out there. If any one else has experienced this and has any knowledge or advice to offer, I would greatly appreciate it. I have no idea who to go to about this. The ENT doctor does not have any solutions, and I doubt a dentist can help me because I don't think it's TMJ.

Raybriann - OH WOW, Im sort og going through the same issues. I Have had mild anxiety since I was 21 im 27 now, but it only triggers when Im in a lot of stress, which I am now. I hear buzzing in my hears and have been getting ear aches lately, my doctor said its also due to stress and she said it was TMJ, she gave me lorazepam. Just this week I caught a cold and had to got to urgen care, the PA precribed me Levaquin, and I finish all the 500mg for 5 days and noticed that Im having problems breathing and my anxiety got worst, I finally just googled and found out that levaquin can cause more anxiety.

Ssteele95 - #27058 Wondering if earache ever resolved. I have been taking Levoquin for over a week now and am experiencing a very severe earache. Feels like someone has jammed a Qtip in my ear and hit my eardrum. Doc said he has never heard of this side-effect from Levqn, so I Googled it and found your post. Any advice?

Purrrsuasive - I am on day 6 of Levaquin and I started having sharp pain in my right ear three days ago. I am taking the Levaquin for a sinus infection, not an ear infection!

Marie43 - I had to take Levaquin for a bladder infection and than later an infection in my chest. Since I am on chemo I have to be very careful of infections. As of three weeks ago my TMJ cracks 3 -4 times when I open and close my mouth to chew. It has gotten to where I don't want to eat anymore which is not good for my condition. I have been told that since I am under stress I am probably tightening my jaw at night and yes this could be part of the case, but I have had TMJ problems because of arthritis for years, but never have I ever had anything like this. I have had a career in dentistry for 38 yrs. and I have seen the problems with this joint. I also am on steroids because of the cancer and have heard that the combination of these two meds. can cause more problems. I just wanted to let you know what I am experiencing, because chalking it off to the stress and arithritis didn't really provide the answer I was searching for. This just feels different.

Fordfiveohh - I work with someone who took levaquin... she has so much jaw pain she can hardly eat.....I took levaquin for 3mothers days. I stopped because of ankle pain.... its 11 year later..... my whole body hurts and its worse every day.... my employer has asked if I should go on disability ... im 29... married for 1 year... my life is ruined....
