Lisinopril Cough, Stomach Problems, January 6, Lisinopril, Best Wishes
Posted over a year ago
How long does it take to have this drug out of your system and the cough to stop completely?
Kwm6 - My wife stopped taking the drug on January 6. By January 10 her cough had stopped, her stomach problems were gone. She had only been on the 20mg dose for a couple of weeks though.
Babell - I had only taken lisinopril for 30 days when I quit taking it. It took about 10 days to be side-effect free. It appears the longer you have taken it, the longer it may take for the side effects to leave. Best wishes to you and hang in there!
Cminma - I was on the stuff for about a year and a half. My symtoms slowly diminished, and are now completely gone. It took about a month. Hope you feel better soon.
Vicarnes - I stopped taking it Nov 5th, 2 1/2 months ago. I'm taking specific vitamins and supplements. BP well within normal range as of 4 days ago. let me know if you want any specifics. Hey... not one cough in 2 weeks, post nasal drip has stopped, and I no longer have to buy panty liners. LOL Vicki C in Charlotte, NC

Vicarnes - Good for you that you discovered this. I tell EVERYONE I come in contact with with high BP who are taking this drug about the gagging cough I had. I've been taking 1 tsp of ground cinnamon twice a day for a couple of months. Ha! My BP runs around 144/82 now. Not bad. Not bad at all.
