I just started my 3rd pack of Loestrin and I think it will be my last.
I started taking it because I would get the WORST cramps when I got my period. Like, so bad that I would sometimes need a prescription pain killer to ease the pain because nothing else worked. My first week on Loestrin, I had headaches everyday and was so fatigued. After a week, I started to feel better but I did notice that I was bloated ALL the time, (still am), my boobs are huge and tender, and my parents and boyfriend have said that i'm definitely a lot more moody and emotional. My doctor said to give it 3 months because that's how long it takes for your body to adjust. But the other weekend, after going out to a bar under dressed, I started crying because I didn't like my outfit. WHO DOES THAT? I was aware that I was being completely irrational, but I couldn't control it. I decided this would be my last pack.
As far as my periods and cramps go, has it done it's job? Absolutely. I have barely had a period and if I do, its 3-4 days and all I need is a pantyliner. As opposed to having a super heavy flow for 5-6 days and changing a pad or tampon every 2 hours.. My cramps are there but compared to what they were it's amazing. My last period I took ONE Aleeve pill for the entire day. ONE. I used to take 2 Aleeve or 2 extra strength Tylenol every 3 hours.
So this is my dilemma.. do I stop taking the pill, drop the weight, act normal again but go back to having horrendous, kill me now periods? Orrrrr keep taking it, hope my body 'adjusts', be fat but feel fine when I get my period?
