Am I Still Protected When I'm on Brown Pill?

I am on my first day of brown pill and still haven't started my period, but I am terrified of not being protected since I was sexually active today, its only my first month on BC. Should I be worried?
Leigh15 - i take Loestrin 24 Fe. and the brown pill is not birth control. it is a vitamin thats why you are on your period and thats where the "Fe" comes in to play. however on my first month of being on this birth control i didnt even have a period, it is not uncommon.
Caroline1993 - I've heard that the brown pill is infact birth control, just a lower dose. I'm not sure if that's true or not, but I would like to know for sure. I'm not sexually active, but only because I wasn't on birth control before this. It worries me that I don't know if I'm still protected or not.
Brican - The brown pill is simply a low dose of iron. It's not part of the birth control itself. My gyno told me to start my next pack of loestrin as soon as I get to the brown pills
