Doxycycline Hyclate I was given the medication to prevent a tooth infection. I tried taking it several times for it but every time I take it I get pain between my shoulder blades and it hurts to swallow. It is worse trying to swallow liquids. I am done. I don't know for sure if it's the med or if I am having a heart attack. J.
