Mirena I've had the Mirena inserted about a month & a half ago. This was the most painful experience I have ever had in my life. I first agreed to the Mirena because I have had reoccurring cysts and most recently I found out that I have thick lining in my uterus. I have tried everything known to woman and nothing seems to work. My doctor convinced about Mirena because she said that it would be inserted in my uterus and would not release any of the hormones into my blood stream and that I would not experience any of the side effects like being on birth control. Did I mention that the insertion process was painful? About 3 days after that day I started to feel symptoms. The 1st was tender & sore breast. Then the migraine headaches started, then I noticed when I would comb my hair gobs of it would come out so I now have a small bald spot on the top of my head. I have been on my period since the day after the insertion. On Thanksgiving the bleeding got really heavy and stayed heavy. It just started to slow down yesterday. I've been nauseous, dizziness, pain in my left arm, heart palpitations, back pain, sleepiness, drowsy, lazy, no energy. I feel depressed all of a sudden and cry for stupid things. The one thing that I haven't lost is my sex drive but I've been bleeding for the last month & a half. I have not heard anything positive about Mirena. It seems like there is more bad than good. My doctor will not perform a partial hysterectomy because I am considered too young. Is there anyone out there that has similar issues like me with the reoccurring cysts & thick lining of the uterus? If so have you tried anything that actually works that doesn't have to do with making you fat hormones? Please chime in ladies!!
