Dukester60 - Well, well, well, I don't think too many of my symptoms were left off that list. I have all of the symptoms listed above and I am post menopausal for a while now. I haven't been able to do any kind of hormone replacement therapy for years because of severe heart problems. I have had a 5 artery by pass surgery 8 years ago; and by the way I am only 48 years old. Ovarian failure was the cause of my premature menopause at age 27. I have suffered for years with all of the symptoms above. I have tried to stay in the work force for years with all of the symptoms above and the fatigue, brain buzz, dizziness and short term memory loss finally got the best of me and I retired at age 47. I am drawing long term disability and the heart and the menopause are just 2 of the many, many medical problems that I have now due to the premature menopause. I did a real age test and it said my real age was 69. I feel that way too. The only thing that I can really add to the symptom list above is that I have really lumpy breasts at times. They will be very lumpy on both sides and so tender that it even hurts when I walk. I get up in the mornings and I have to hold them when I walk to the bathroom or to the fridge to keep them from hurting so bad. The buzzing in my head is about to drive me bananas and the depression is just about to get the best of me. Thank God I have church and my Grandchildren and daughter. They are my lifeline. Good luck anyone who suffers even half of the symptoms listed in jahrule's symptom list.
Churia - I used to work as a neonatal nurse and what you describe was the first hint of a perimenopausal pregnancy. You can still have surprise ovulations. You might be surprised to have a period in a couple of weeks.
Lynetto - Hi,
I am only 25yrs old and suffer at least half the stuff that is on that list... Seriously, i am not premenopausal/menopausal? How can one tell for sure as i dont want to go to my doc's telling them what i have wrong and they laugh in my face. If i am not menopausal then what else has these similar symptoms if anyone knows?
Kind regards
Lynette
Menopause123 - Hi Lynette,
Did you know you can start your premenopause as joung as your early twenties and there are so many helpful natural remedies when you are so joung, the reason I am telling you this is that after my problem of feeling so bad I did research on menopause and I spoke to my granny and my mom and she started at 27 years old it is a good idea if you have a open relationship with your mother as I have with my mother and my daughter to go and speak to her and ask her when did she go through menopause and how did she feel. But if you feel comfortable with your doctor be open he will not laugh and tell him that you have a suspcion that you are going through premenopause and see what he says, if he is clued up and has dealt with menopausal women a lot he will guide you correctly, but do not let them fool you as say you are too joung, I was told that at 40 years old and I went through hell, my gyno said no you are too joung for such things, nobody knows your body the way you do, there are so many hormone helpers for alot of the symptons do not be to hasty to go on hormone replacement drugs they can mess you up, I am not doctor but after a lot of problems and feeling so bad and all other illness ruled out I was finaly given at 43 Estriol tablets and I feel a lot better, but you should go and see your doctor and discuss how you feel with him or her. People told me your life starts at 40 I thought I was dying not starting. It may be just a slight hormone inbalance that you are experiencing , put your fears in your pocket and speak to the right people to help you. There is a silver lining out there!!
Kind Regards
Caroline

Kivana - How soon after your positive tests did you menstruate? Quite often women who are pregnant never even know because they have an occasional extra heavy period that is actually a miscarriage. If you were doing pregnancy tests so often it is quite possible that you were pregnant for a brief time. You should go to a gyno doctor though for blood tests that way you will have peace of mind.
Mandymoo - im 37 and started suffering hot flushes, i did at the beginning of the year not have a period for 2 months. I have now not started my period again. The hot flushes are unreal, i can have loads during the day. Im suffering headache aswell. Does anyone think i should go doctors to discuss this or is it just premenopause????
Thanks Amanda
Sabinja42 - I have already posted a message here. Finally had period, for two days heavy, this last wednesday, blood tests i had at docs were all fine, not hormone imbalance, but still got very distended tummy, and sure i can feel movement, hubby and friends say they can too. After hubby complained to docs boss i now got ultrasound scan on tuesday, so, hopefully, will get answer to problem. Hubby being very supportive, just been on 2 weeks holiday, 1st week camping with active 7 year old daughter, very stressful, 2nd week in caravan on site, very good, relaxing time for all of us. Will let you know result of scan
45is2young - I have most of the symptons listed above, especially the hot/cold flashes. One minute sweating and the next minute, freezing cold.
I have not had a period since March this year. Last year, in 2007, I think I had maybe 3 or 4 periods all year long. I am constantly tired, anxious & emotional.
How long does this last...does anyone know? Is this just a passing phase? It's 'killing me' so to speak.
Dusty1 - I had my last period a little over a year ago. My doctor says I am post-menopause. I thought symptoms would get better not continue. My breasts do not hurt but they do seem larger. Not sure if that is because of menopause, I don't like it because it makes me feel fat. The one symptom that really bothers me is the ringing in my ear. It comes and goes and I am not sure if this is because of fluctuating hormones or allergies or just fluid in my inner ears. Hope it stops. Good luck to you.
Lea - hi im 29 and took an home menopause tests because have some symptoms like above and it was positive could it of been my period or could i be going into early menopause

Abbeyrose - Wow, I do have a lot of the symtoms above and am post menopause..I felt like I was 20 before Meno and now I feel like I'm 90. They need to do more research on this..its awful. I have been to foot docs, physical therapy, had the saliva test. My tendons keep inflaming for no reason, I used to lift 10# weights and now am down to 3 or 5# and am still getting constant tendon pain that comes and goes. Yes, I think everyone else thinks I'm nuts since I've had so many symtoms. What do we do or take when it attacks our muscles..Any help?
Kimbly61 - I am 47 and started having irregular hot flushes last year. I havent had a period for 3-4 months. I am very jumpy. Become teary at TV ads! Have gained some weight but particularly in the abdomen area! Some restless nights, some good nights, some tingling in feet/hands.

Bouts of rapid heart beat but usually brought on by ex
Sudden tears usually brought by ex

What's up with me?
Debandstac - Well I started taking Paxil 40 mg about 11 years this went on. I stopped my period 3 months later.after starting Paxil.. I went down to 30 mg and had a period, right away and then stopped again for a few more years, then went down to 20 mg and had a period and then stopped again, once my body got use to the new dosage, my body stopped having periods... now I am 50 and my Dr. said I need a D/C done because I didnt have a period for all those years. that will be next month. (march). I have adrenal gland disorder, sm. tumor on the adrenal.. nothing big, have it tested every year, but i do have high in the testrorone area for a female. I get hair in places where I shouldnt, because I started shaving my very small facial chin hair, I thought it was a nusiance then.. and it really wasnt, now I always had to shave! I already had a anxiety disorder, so I am on xannax, so maybe I will not have any symptoms... and just go on through it like my mom did. But I do have period pain and no period about every 6 months, sometimes light spotting, thats only happen more recently. I do get a little dizzy at times and I do not like that!

Kerenc83 - Hi. 45 yr old .. periods always reg at a 31day cycle .. last 2 months I have had my period 4 times lasting at least a week ..light at first and then heavy with clotting ..all women in my family went through menopause between ages 39 to 43 ... I do have hot flashes , insomina, anxiety and bouts of crying ... Is the pre menopause ..I am freaking out ... ????
Nienna - I'm dying here, and taking my fiance with me..I am 48 yrs old and I am either menosapusal or insane....My foot (and only one foot) itches and burns so badly at night that I would almost amputate it happily...I get hot flashes and have to move away from my fiance because I can't "take the heat." I am so moody...I never was the emotional type...really....now, I go from okay to crying needy insane woman in 30 seconds flat. My labido has actually gone way off the unpredictability chart...one moment I am fine with being cuddled, and the next ....let's just say that it's way unusual for me....and as my fiance has been sick lately (and therefore not very interested...) it evolves into a crying mess for me....compounded with the fact that i am significantly older than him, and having some self-esteem issues with that (yeah...I know...how can there be a problem if I have a guy 15 yrs younger absolutely crazy for me...trust me...I'm constantly afraid he will wake up and want a 25 yr old...)...I'm gaining weight, hating work (used to love it....) and losing my hair, eyelashes and hearing...I find it hard to get off the couch (I have done triathalons and marathons....so, what the ...?) This is sucking my life away....and just to complicate it....I am active duty military, so while I can go to the doc here, if I get placed on meds it will ground me and I could lose my career....Herbals? Anything I can do on my own? Accupuncture? Accupressure? Frontal lobotomy?
Vinkariz - Oh I so relate to what you all are saying. When I talked to my Dr. (general practitioner) she said " it's menopause, you're overwieght, you're probably depressed and you may have fibro(but I don't deal with that) lose weight and exercise". I wanted to ask her questions about how to deal with all the symptoms ( achy joints, pain in feet, knees, hips, back, chest, neck, chronic fatique, mental confusion, gas, crying, anger, weight gan...20lbs in two months, and more... She said, "one thing at a time, lets deal with your blood pressure". My bp is never right so we'll never talk about anything else. My GYN doesn't believe in hormone replacement so not much help there. He said, exercise, take yoga, meditation, eat right, rest, lower my expectations...Great! So I've tried. I've been following a diet for three months and have lost 0 lbs. I swim three times a week and I walk on the other days...I still cry at the drop of a hat and basically feel like I'm dying of cancer. I've developed a new thing...pain in my groin. I can't stand up to put on my pants because it hurts so much. I feel like my insides are falling out. Yet again...nothing is wrong with me. Today I feel so awful I want to go to the ER and say...I think my insides are going to fall out and then list off all of my other symptoms. Maybe they will actually run some tests. I won't however because I feel like they will just think I'm a crazy menopausal/fibro nut. So I'm sitting on my bed with zero energy on a beautiful sunny day. May husband is downstairs probably wondering what happened to his wife and his life. I'm suffering and I don't really know why and I really don't know what to do.
Sugasuga - I turned 40 one month ago. I had a hyster. when I was 32 and have been on hormones from the dr. all this time. I was taking 2mg of estradiol but in the last several month i would just take half or just not take a all. It never really bothered me when i went a few days without. Then now all of a sudden I guess you can say I hit rock bottom. 3 weeks ago i had such a hot overwhelming feeling with shakes, i guess i might have made it worst scarying myself. It went on for hours and I told my soon to be husband to take me to ER. Which I never ever do! So they just dismiss it as a virus. Which I knew it was not!!! So i went to my dr. the next day...blood test started with everything coming back normal. That went on another week not even thinking about hormones...then i asked him about it and he tested me saying it came back post menopause...which no Kidding!!! I had a hyster. bout 10 years ago. I feel like im going to jump out of my skin! I hear my heart beat in my left ear like whoosing sound. When i get this "attacks" i kinda freak out. Dr. says panic attack from hormones not being balanced. But im thinking to myself ...why did it hit like a freight train? all of a sudden? No early symptons to tell me...so im getting upset with doctors...which i have seen two. I have been taking my hormones like i should in last couple weeks. I can have one good day then 3 bad days! Is this normal? Will it all pan out? Dr. put me on xanax for couple weeks for the so called attacks saying "until your hormones level out" it is possible they are right? when will it get back in my system? I just wanna be normal again. The first week it went on I missed a week of work :(
Ladflirt - im going thro9ugh it also and hate it my bloating is the worse not to mention i freel depressed lonely and full o anziiety
