Metoprolol Succinate ER Constant Sore Throat, Toprol Xl, Mg Dose, Thanks in Advance, Metoprolol

Hello, I'm not sure if this is a side effect of being switched to Metoprolol Succinate ER from Toprol XL at 50 mg dose once daily or not but since I have been I've had a constant sore throat and mainly at night. If anyone else has experienced a similar problem please let me know. Thanks in advance.
Aj1 - Same sore throat as described in other postings. Thought I was going crazy and wondered what was causing it.
Lumulcahy2 - I also was switched from Toprol to Metoprolol after about 3 months. I have had a problem with many sores in my mouth. I told my Dr. about this and he doesn't think the generic caused them.
Idipped217 - yes i do have sore throats but mainly at night day time iam just fine but from another medication the doctor just put me on meto succ 50mg yesterday, iam not gonna take it i will call my doctor on monday
Skarphy - Since my Dr. switched me from Lisinopril 3 weeks ago, I have had a sore throat almost every night too, with congestion, and sinus headaches almsot every night and day which I had rarely ever had. I have also noticed a quick weight gain in the last couple weeks, and after checking the possibility of it being my meds, I read that lots of people have the same side effects. I'm definitely going to talk to my dr about switching to another BP medicine. My high BP is only situational, (work related). They tell me otherwise I have normal BP. Thanks for your note.
