I got the Mirena after the birth of my son, around May of 2011. I have 4 years left on it, and even with insurance i had to spend $400 bucks out of pocket. It seemed like a great idea at first. The Dr. told me that it had no hormones in it and that it would be a great choice for me, considering i was breastfeeling at the time. Turns out, it DOES have hormones in it and because of that I wasnt able to breastfeed past four months...devistated. The Mirena itself scrapes and really does damage to my husbad when we are having sex. It makes sex unpleasent for both of us, and sex is such an important part of our relationship. Oer the past 6 months or so i have been getting REALLY REALLY BAD cramps, and REALLY bad hair loss. The cramps feel just like really bad contractions. I have beem to the dr. Thinking maybe its in the wrong place, but turns out its in correctly. I really hate to throw all of the money out of the window, but i just dont feel that the Mirena is safe and healthy. Has anyone else experianced anything like this before?
