Is Stroke a Side Effect for Mirena?

I'm a 32 yr old healthy female. I got the Mirena in March 2007 and I've been loving it (no migraines and no menstruation!) - well except for the low sexual libido. but a month ago I experienced a mini stroke and aside from the Mirena there's been no changes in my health.
Has anyone experienced stroke symptoms or an actual stroke while on the Mirena? My doctors have run tests to find the cause of this mini stroke but they haven't found a cause.
Alabamachick - I don't know about a stroke but anxiety can play a big part with the mirena. I sent you a private message about it.I would check into it to see if it were from the mirena.
Lvell0s - well i'm 23 in i also ask the same question but i've had mine for a year now and I took it out due o gain weight and lack of energy and I'm feeling great now it's been 3 days without it and i feel better already a little spotting but they say it's normal and about the stroke I mean I think any birth control can do that to you especially if you smoke but if you read the pamplet they gave you when you got the mirena insert it tells you there that can be a side effect. But by the way what are the symtoms of a mild stroke?
Yecenia01 - for me at least a mini stroke episode included: i couldn't walk straight (like i was drunk), my entire right arm went numb i couldn't feel or move it, i had trouble seeing,and then i lost my ability to speak. it's a mini stroke because there were no permanent brain damages (thank god!). the entire episode lasted about an hour then i fully recovered.
i dont' smoke, drink, etc, etc. the nuerologist told me that maybe my migranes were changing and tried to classify this episode as a migrane. but i've never experienced anything like this and i've had migranes for 10 or so years now. plus i never heard of migrane patients' arms going numb or loosing their ability to speak. plus i never got a headache that time.
i've asked my doctor if the mirena could have caused this but she insists it can't be the cause since it doesn't have the hormone that would cause blood clots.
by the way i never had migranes until i got on the pill 10 years ago. i only took the pill for 6 months when i finally realized they were the cause of the migranes. but the migranes never went away!
i think i'm going to get the mirena removed. and avoid any more hormonal contraceptives. i don't want to suffer another mini stroke or worse a full blown stroke.
Krwood27 - Ive recently had been diagnosed with a mini stroke. And I've only had the Mireya 2 months but it will be removed ASAP!! Also have had hair loss!!
