Loss of taste, increased sense of smell
Griders3 - I have been on Neurontin for 3 years. I take it for severe neuropathy in my legs. It has caused me to have memory loss. I am also having trouble with my taste buds and my sense of smell. All of these things have been noticeable for about the last 6 months to a year. It makes me kind of confused sometimes as well. I only take about 600mg a day. I do take the pills before bed. I used to take them during the day and would forget to take them most of the time. Since I take them with the rest of my meds before bed, I am taking them on a regular basis now. That is probably why I am noticing more of the side effects now. I had gastric bypass surgery in 2008 and it almost killed me. That is how I ended up with the severe neuropathy in my legs. I have to take Coumadin for the rest of my life because I got blood clots in both legs that traveled to my lungs. I was in a wheelchair for 6 months because I couldn't walk at all. I was in the hospital so much from that surgery that my muscles atrophied in my legs. I could go on and on...don't ever have gastric bypass!!
