Permanent Side Effects
My itching started in my eyes, moved to my shoulders, down both arms, some on both legs. I went to the emergency room, and was told that the medicine for itching eyes was on reserve for severe people. (?) I lost track of how many different diagnosis I have had. Shingles, MRSA,(with no lab work). The dermatologist biopsy revealed inflamation (DUH!). I honestly think that some of the 500 mg Niaspam Er stayed in my liver and has constantly for 16 months now, caused episodes of entire body flush, itchy rash still on right arm. When the nurse last checked my blood pressure, the pressure from the pad around my right arm turned the rash blood red! It looked as though blood had been displaced into the rash bumps. ... more »

I read about "how to do a liver cleanse". I did it and plan to keep doing it until my rash totally goes away. This mess has ruled my life.
I have been diabetic for 30 years, I have had 5 heart by-passes and no longer trust 99 percent of the doctors I have seen!!!!My cardiologist should never have prescribed Niaspam 500 ER for me.
