Omeprazole Anxiety, Diziness, Severe Anxiety, Anxiety Attack, Omepazole

I started Omeprazole about 2 and 1/2 weeks ago. Last week, I had a severe anxiety attack. Tightness in my chest, numbing hands and feet, shortness of breath, extreme dizziness and I also felt like I was going to pass out. I called my doctor in tears while I was having another attack and he gave me a prescription for xanax and told me to continue taking the omepazole and the xanax. Has anyone else ever had panic attacks (out of the blue) while on this medication? Also, is it safe to take xanax and omeprazole together? I'm at the point where I'm considering stopping the omeprazole completely.
