I was prescribed prednisolone for really bad hives due to an unknown allergic reaction. The doctor advised me not to read too much into the side effects as they would more than likely put me off and weren't really relevant to short term use. I went against her advice and came across this site to research it before taking it and I have to say it put me right off hearling all these horror stories. I went to talk to my really helpful local pharmacist who was happy to listen to my concerns and persuaded me to give it a chance as I was in agony and not sleeping. It was the best thing I could have done! I have suffered none of the horrors described here so am happy to say these side effects do not happen to everyone and within a day of my first dose my hives had improved massively. The only slight side effect was a slightly quickened heartbeat but barely noticeable really. I felt i wanted to contribute in case there is anyone else out there getting stressed out at the thought of taking them having heard bad things, I would give it a shot as these effects are not applicable to everyone and as the pharmacist said, you won't know unless you try!
