Ambien CR
I take Ambien CR 12.5 mg. At first it use to put me right to sleep, but now it doesn't. Can I double up the dose, or maybe take 1 and a half tablets? Or maybe I just need to get something to settle me down first!! Tammy
I don't know about the cr, but I take regular 10mg ambien, and your body gets used to the drug after a while, and stops helping you sleep. Maybe stop taking for a few days (I know how hard it is to sleep), but then the drug will work better.

With Ambien CR, you aren't supposed to split the pill because it is controlled release, so you would be getting the effect too fast from the split pill. I would call your doctor and see if there is an alternative.
