ANTIHISTAMINE/DECONGESTANT

Posted at 12:14 PM on May 22, 2008 by kvwilli215, #6113
The bottle of Pediatan I have says that it is an Antihistamine and Decongestant, however in speaking with the Assistant in my Pediatrician's office, she said the bottle she has says only Antihistamine. Are these meds the same or is the bottle she has something different? My Peds gave it to me to help decongest my asthmatic 11 year old.

Sounds like you have PediaTan-D and she only has PediaTan. There are two formulations and you both have different ones. PediaTan-D is the antihistamine (chlorpheniramine) and decongestant (phenylephrine) which is what you have.
