Anybody Get Jolting or Twitching from Protonix and Aciphex

Posted at 9:35 AM on Jun 20, 2008 by glennla, #6468
When I am lying down, almost ready to fall asleep, I often get many jolts/twitching from both Protonix and Aciphex. I stopped Protonix for a week, and the symptoms reduced and were gone. I don't think this is a coincidence. I tried Aciphex, and the same twitching is taking place. It almost seems like you get a strange heartbeat along with the twitching. Very scary for sure. Now it is starting to wake me up in my sleep, and this twitching goes on for a few hours (10 or 20 times) then I fall back to sleep. My GERD is so bad I need to be on the mes.

I have been getting some weird side effects since I started Protonix one month ago. I have had the twitching but it was during the day. I have also been getting a lot of pains in my head. Not the usual type headaches, weird kind of pains. When I initially started taking it I had some tingling in my fingers and toes.

Thanks for replying. I too have some twitching during the day but much more intense at night. No headaches though. No tingling, well I would say mild shaking of the hands. Protoniz and Achiplex caused the same problem. Stopped for 1 to 2 nights, and the twitching got much less. You might want to try Nexium, I had no side effects related to twitching, but for me the pill didn't do much of anything.
