Anyone else have severe heartburn with Mirena?

Hi, I've been having the same. However, it's hard to get anyone, doctors I mean to listen. I'd be interested in anyone else's view on this.

had Mirena inserted in October of 2006. As many described, it was an extremely painful experience - and I consider myself to have a high tolerance for pain. (I do Bikram yoga in 115 degree heat, I run hills in the park in 90 degree weather for fun, I am planning a cross country bike trip, I am very fit and athletic and consider myself physically tough.) After the Mirena was inserted - I too almost lost consciousness. The doctor acted like that wasn't the norm. I drove away that day in extreme pain - they never warned me about that. They actually said it would be a virtually pain free procedure and that I would be fine to drive home, however I never should have been driving in that condition upon reflection. My real reason for wanting to post this though is the following - I am a professional singer. About 7 months after having Mirena put in, I noticed a rasp in my voice that was unusual. Then 4 more months later (October 2007), noticed pain in my throat. I went to the doctor and discovered I had a large throat ulcer and one of my vocal chords was partially paralyzed! They diagnosed me with severe acid reflux and said this problem had probably been going on for months unnoticed to get to the point to which it had already progressed. I was so shocked. I have always been extremely healthy - no binge drinking, no smoking, I eat organic and vegetarian - this was very unexpected. Now it is July 2008. I am still battling severe acid reflux - my throat is burning from white rice, bread and salmon I ate tonight! As a singer, I can not continue to deal with this - my singing voice is torn up. I am at my wits end and so I got online and found this site. I now have a strong feeling that this Mirena may be the cause of this reflux. By the way - I too have had absolutely no sex drive, no patience, depression, and unexplained acne. I'm 32 years old - no history of acne. I've also felt bloated since I had this thing inserted. I called my sister and am driving 2 hours away to a doctor I trust to have this removed.
