Anyone have hypertension from Yasmin

I am 42 years old. Never had a problem with blood pressure/hypertension. Went on Yasmin to regulate periods and on for 4 months. Went off after my blood pressure went sky high and doc said to go off immediately. Since than, have been to GP and he put me on blood pressure meds. Think he overmedicated me and feel like in a fog. Reduced the dosage and a little better. Does Yasmin cause hypertension? Never had it all before until Yasmin. Thanks....I am desperate. I hate the blood pressure meds.
