Asthmatic bronchitis

How long does asthmatic bronchitis last? I have had it for 6-7 weeks now and I am on prednisone and just started advair. I never had asthma or bronchitis before. I did take the z pak (3 paks of them) and this is the only time i felt i was back to normal. I did not need an inhaler or anything. Then they put me on cipro and pro air. Pro air did not help me at all and made me worse. It seems all rescue inhalers make it harder for me to breathe. Its kinda hard for me to breathe at times and I wheeze through my trachea it seems. I do still have occasional pains in my bronchial area. Please I just want to feel normal again without all this. I've had many asthma attacks and I just want to feel like myself again. I have missed work and everything. Afraid to leave my house due to having another asthma attack. Please help.
