Avascular Necrosis or Osteonecrosis??

Posted at 12:54 PM on May 20, 2008 by avnmom08, #6087
Have any of you been informed of this risk? I'm reaching out to others who have or are taking this medication and would like to share our story. Information is key to anyone using this medication and we feel that we were not informed of this devastating bone disease. My daughter was recently diagnosed with this in her right shoulder, both elbow, both knees, and both ankles! She is now condemned to a life of pain, suffering, surgeries, loss of income, and who knows what countless other affects from taking this drug. She took it for a period of 4 months, max dose of 90 mg while in the hospital suffering from ulcerative colitis. We feel strongly that this is not disclosed by the manufacturer of the drug, nor from the doctors dispensing this drug.
