I am currently on Avelox and I have severe pain in my right side, Burning in my back that made me drop to my knees and cry. I then began to have severe chest pain. I called my doctor who refused to see me unless I paid more money to him. I just don't have it. In the last 3 weeks I've spent nearly $700 after insurance on prescriptions and doctor visits. No one seems to care. I'm having terrible chest pain, hip pain, dizziness, impaired judgement, and my vision is definately having problems. I'm a 35 year female with no problems until I took this. I'm having carpal tunnel feeling in my wrists and pain in my legs. My legs hurt so bad when I stand up. When I pick my baby up I get really winded andfeel like passing out. I didn,t sustain tendon ruptures but have permanent seizure disorder,serious visual impairment,reactive airway disease,mitral insufficiency and other symptomology from the poison,AVELOX. I didn't suffer to the extent of the other people who replied. However, I do have chronic tendonitis. The serious pain comes and goes, but I can't even hold my 8 lb. dog in my left hand! I can't imagine trying to hold a baby! Are there any lawyers in Maine, or even New England accepting cases regarding this poison? I really don't know where to turn. I had taken this junk before, strangely several times, before the very last time I took it when the chronic tendonitis occured.

I was on avelox and I expirienced severe pain in my lower back, which I still am dealing with and now I am on Cipro and I am not sure that is going to help, I also had pain in my shoulder down my elbow and numbness in my hand. It made me mentally unstable, affected my balance, and made me very sad and anxious. I had chest pain from anxiety and panic attacks. I am more than willing to send this information but I live in NY. Jenn, Cipro and Avelox are quinolones and BOTH are manufactured by Bayer!! If you can find a lawyer and an expert to prove damages,then file lawsuit in FEDERAL COURT not state!!! This is very important. Question,why on earth did your doc prescribe Cipro after you had a serious reaction to Avelox? Sue the doc too!!! Docs have been so careless. Avelox victims, I never heard from Erin Brockovich. Humphrey,s lawfirm sent me a contract but never returned my calls! I didn,t sign anything without speaking to an attorney in their firm FIRST!! I,ll call a lawfirm in Philadelphia and ask if i can post their name and contact on this site. I thought i had finally found legal representation and was told my lawsuit had already been decided by the judge. Summary Judgement was granted for Bayer!! I was never notified! Bad news is i had 30 days to appeal to FEDERAL COURT. I found out last month,Septmber,that case was decided May 22!! I smell a Bayer rat! I randomly found this site after searching for any lawsuits that may have already been pending against bayer. I am 22 years old and took only one dose of this medicine about 3 days ago. I began throwing up within hours and couldn't even sleep at night. I felt like I was having a prolonged panic attack and my heart was pounding. I finally got some sleep at around 5am. That morning I felt find but the panic attacks continued later in the evening. If it wasn't for my boyfriend I would have lost it. I got extremely disoriented and had strange thoughts...I was convinced I was going to die. Today is the first day I have not felt any of these side effects and I pray it stays that way. It amazes me that just one dose could effect me so much.

I took avelox last December. I had tingling in my left arm while I was taking it. I called my doctor who called the pharmacy. They said it was normal and to keep taking it. I disagreed and quit taking it that day. I had been on it for 6 days. About a week and a half to two weeks later I could not sleep at night. Then I started getting a stiff and painful neck. After that came headaches. Now my left shoulder aches. I have a stiff neck every day, some days are worse than others. I don't remember a black box label on the avelox. I don't believe this drug should be given for sinus infections which is what I took it for.I took a drug to help me and it darn near killed me. Barb2
