Biaxin while Pregnant?

I had gone to see and Ear, Nose and Throat doctor. And I was told I had an infection on my voice box, which I have been researching and is just coming up as Laryngitis. Before I prescribed me any medications, I told him I was about 8 weeks pregnant. He said okay and that what he was prescribing me was safe for pregnancy. And since he's a doctor and you should trust your doctor, I trusted that. I ended up taking a generic Biaxin. Earlier this week, I had a miscarriage. I had been taking biaxin for maybe 2 weeks, and the ER doctor seemed curious about the prescriptions I was on. I still don't have an answer as to why I had a miscarriage. But I did research, and on a website I found, it says "this medicine has been shown to cause harm to the fetus. Biaxin is not recommended for use during pregnancy except when no other antibiotics can be used." Does anybody know if there were other antibiotics I could have been prescribed?
