Cardizem LA

I have been on DoivanHCT160 since September, '08 with BP going from 160 to the 125/140 range. Doctor has advised me to go on CardizemLA to control BP plus an irregular heartbeat which I have had for 20 years. Took first pill today and after an hour and a half felt as though my face had a novacain injection. Went away after awhile but chest discomfort now. Anyone else experience negative effects from this drug (CardizemLA)
