Depakote Weaning process...

Posted at 9:53 AM on Oct 13, 2003 by kelleygirlaz, #705
My question is, if a person were to be taken off Depakote because it is causing pancreatitus, should the drug be stopped abruptly or tapered off? Also, if a person had been taking Depatore for 2 years on a daily basis, how long would it take for the drug's effects to wear off? The reason I am asking is that a doctor took me off of it without a weaning process as he was convinced that it was the cause for my pancreatitus. He started me on Zoloft the same day. I became violently ill weeks later and experienced a full blow manic episode.
