I've been on 300 mg/day of Wellbutrin for about three months now. Overall, it has definitely helped me and the benefits outweigh the side effects. But...
The two side effects that bother me the most don't seem to be going away and I'm wondering if anybody else has experienced them, and if so, do they ever stop??
I feel dizzy and "electric-shock" for the first approx. five hours after I take my morning dose (150 mg). For example, if I'm walking, and turn my head to the side (to talk to somebody or whatever), I turn my head back forwards and ... BANG! ... I feel totally lightheaded and dizzy and out of my own body and electric shocks go from my brain down my arms.
The other one is that my skin itches. I don't get hives, but I get so itchy sometimes that I actually scratch the skin right off. I now have what appear to be permanent scars on one hand and arm, thanks to this. I get itchy mostly on my hands (thumbs), forearms, and upper back.
Does any of this sound familiar? Will it ever go away??????
If this medication is actually CAUSING itching, that is an allergic reaction.
I think you need to notify the doc who prescribed this drug,of all these symptoms. It sounds bad! You are having serious neurologic symptoms. Did you have these symptoms before starting Wellbutrin? These types of meds are not safe to abruptly stop. Are you taking any other meds as well?
Perhaps a drug interaction??? See your doc asap! These symptoms are telling you something is very wrong. Good luck.
