Dose this medication help produce thyroid hormone

Once taking this medication dose it help the thyroid hormone to increase metabolism to help weight loss, i am reading symptoms on a week thyroid comes with problem losing weight and hair loss tiredness and taking this medication will help improve those areas is this true
