What is the difference between metoprolol succinate er and metoprolol tartrate? Are they interchangable?

Metoprolol Succinate ER is extended release version. Can take without regard to meals Metoprolol Tartrate is immediate release version. This should also be taken with food. When switching from immediate release metoprolol to extended release, the same total daily dose of metoprolol should be used.
