Effexor Side Effects

I was put on 75 mg of effexor when I was twenty years old, I had many side effects but they seemed to go away after a few weeks and I got used to everything. After 6 years I went off effexor and started a new medication for the past 8 months, that wasn't working out well for me, I was still depressed and made me gain about 20 pounds. My doctor is now putting me back on the effexor and doubling the dosage I was on to 150 mg. My question is switching back to the effexor will I experience the same side effects I had when I first started it 7 years ago?
