getting off Diovan

I'm weaning myself off of this medication. Can i just stop taking it or should I cut the pills in half for a few days?? I've had it with BP medicine. My Dr has given me 4 different combinations in the last two and a half months. The last one just about landed me in the hospital. I stopped it and found some 160mg Diovan samples (first one I was given) I'm taking it now but I want to go off of it and try natural methods. I'm already itching and swelling from this one and It's just been one day. Very frustrated. Thank you
