gettting off seroquel

i am currently taking 1000mg. of seroquel. I gained 60lbs.i want to get off of this!! i have been on it for 6 year. what is the proper way to wean off seroquel? my doctor is weaning me off at 200mg per week i am having withdraws. what should i do? is this the safest way to wean off 1000mg?
