Halfing a 100mg zoloft pill

If you are prescribed 50 mg of Zoloft, can you half a 100mg pill? Does it work the same?

I was told not to split any of the pills...i didnt bother to ask why but you can also ask ur pharmacist.

if the pill is scored you can half it. depending on how close you get to truely halfing it, it will be about the same dose
