Has topamax caused carpal tunnel syndrome in anyone?

Several months ago I read a comment from someone who had carpal tunnel surgery after taking topamax. Following the surgery, they found out that they never had carpal tunnel syndrome and their hand issues were just a side effect. I have been scheduled for the surgery and every problem with my hands, the pain, the numbness, the weakness and the discoloration all started 7 days after taking topamax. My hands have become progressively worse and I do not want to have surgery for no reason. PLEASE HELP!!!
my husband was on topamax for a few months which didnt help his bpressure anyway. But now he cant feel his left hand at all. so he went to another doc. she said it was carpel and gave him some inflammitory med to try first. he just used up the bottle and still cant feel his hand.
