HEART MURMUR AND ADVAIR

I have an 8yr old son whom suffers from asthma. The last couple of weeks we have had two flare ups and today we went to a Pulmonologist and he prescribed Advair!! I have been in the medical field for about 10yrs and it is my understanding you don't prescribe this medication to heart problem patients!!??? Does any one know more about this? Oh and that is on top of Singulair!!! Which i don't like due to his horrible nightmares!!!
