How do you know if seroquel is right for you?

Posted at 3:42 PM on Mar 08, 2009 by anna777, #9342
The first week I took seroquel I was able to sleep with the aid of sleeping pills. Every time the doctor ups the dose I start crying for a few moments. My previous insomnia and bowel moments which were a concern before hand ,are worse now, and I have gained a dangerous amount of weight and crave sugar, which is dangerous for me, since diabetes runs in my family. My depression and anxiety are less only because my brain is in a fog. At what point should my doctor reassess my treatment?

aI am on Seroquel as well. If you have the same issues 10 days or more I would contact your doc and say you can't tolerate this medicine and ask for alternatives? There is nothing like good communication. Make sure you see your doc regularly, at least 1-2 x per month. These meds and dosages are trial and error and require both experience & knowledge from your doc and trust on your part. You must be seeing a psychiatrist not an internist or family doc when your symptoms are varied and/or complicated.
